Position Objective:
The Branch Manager provides support, coaching, and supervision for Member Service Representatives at the branch and serves as a loan processor. The Branch Manager will work directly with Member Services Manager in ensuring that branch day to day operations are running smoothly, efficiently and in compliance with policy and regulation, and with the Lending Administrator to ensure smooth consumer loan processing and compliance.
Consults with members and provides solutions to match their needs.
Supports credit union cross-service efforts and performs transactions for members with regard to all share and consumer loan products and services.
Essential Duties:
1) Supervise Member Service Representatives at branch. Provide regular feedback and coaching; maintain a motivated and well-trained staff.
2) Recruit and select applicants for Member Service vacancies at the branch, and maintain effective employee relations.
3) Interview new and existing members and review members’ accounts. Promote credit union products and services based on member needs. Maintain current knowledge of all credit union’s services and policies.
4) Open new memberships, accounts, certificates, and Individual Retirement Accounts.
5) Take consumer loan applications and interview applicants.
6) Process and analyze consumer loan applications. Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify proof of income, and perform rent verifications as applicable.
7) Approve loans within approval authority. Make recommendations for approval or denial and send to senior loan officer for final decisioning.
8) Explain reasons for denial or counteroffer and explore options for members when loans are denied or counteroffered.
9) Ensure accurate processing of consumer loans by making sure that each one is properly documented, closed, disbursed, and filed.
10) Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with, all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and internal controls.
11) Ensure compliance with operational, security and control policies/procedures, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets.
12) Respond to members’ requests, problems and complaints, resolving issues, and/or directing them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance. Handle more complex questions and problems.
13) Perform periodic audits of cash drawers; monitoring branch operating cash (including ATM and teller drawer limits), reviewing teller cash counts, conducting intermittent counts and making recommendations for coaching and performance improvement.
14) Serve as the point person for Accounting reconciliation questions for checks and monetary instruments at branch.
15) Actively participate in consumer education/outreach activities including workshops, community events, and other sponsored initiatives.
16) Makes suggestions for improving staff issues, member relations, policies and procedures
17) Keeps supervisor informed of all unresolved computer, staff or member problems
18) Monitor member service supplies and ensure they are ordered in a timely manner
Other Job Functions and Requirements
19) Will be back up in the following areas:
a) Back-up for Member Service Representatives at branch
20) Works directly with Member Services Manager and performs any other duties as directed by the Member Services Manager, the COO or CEO; including emergency roles in a declared emergency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1) High School Diploma; some college preferred
2) Preferably three years experience in a comparable position
3) Excellent mathematical ability
4) Accuracy
5) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
6) Well-organized individual with time management and prioritization skills, with ability to work under critical time constraints.
7) Follow dress code policy to have a neat and presentable appearance
8) Capable of operating basic office equipment
9) Ability to interact with all levels of management
10) Ability to maintain a level head and rational judgement in an emergency
11) Proven work leadership and coaching skills
12) Proven ability to effectively handle difficult customer conversations
13) Ability to work with members of many cultures
14) Notary Public preferred

Pay: $22.50 - $23.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37 – 40 per week
