Important Information about ATM Balance Inquiries
When you do a balance inquiry at an ATM, the “available balance” in your checking account includes money available to you in your checking account, AND, if you have set up overdraft protection, all overdraft protection account funds.

That could include the following:

  • your line-of-credit
  • savings accounts

This means you could withdraw funds from your savings account(s), or from your Line of Credit- which will need to be paid back.

To find out the balance available in your checking account only, you can use the online Web Teller at or our automated Phone Teller: (315) 671-CASH, or (315) 671-2274. Soon, Mobile Banking by cell phone will be available for balance inquiries.

If you do not want your “available balance” inquiries at an ATM to show anything but the money in your checking account, you can also have the overdraft protection linked to the checking account turned off. If you remove this link, you will not have overdraft protection on your account.

You first set up your overdraft protection when you open a checking account. You may make changes to your overdraft protection preferences at any time.

To review your overdraft protection set-up, to sign up for our free Web Teller or Phone Teller, or if you have any questions, please call Member Service at (315) 473-0220.
