Common Cents 2023: Racial Justice Awards

Help your favorite local nonprofits win cash awards from Common Cents, a  community rewards program funded by Coop Fed's VISA Debit Cards.

Every purchase made with a Coop Fed debit card adds "small change" to the Common Cents prize pool. At the end of the year, those funds are awarded to organizations chosen by our members. You can bank for social justice every day, simply by using your Coop Fed debit card.

Vote by June 30

Voting is now open for the 2023 round of Common Cents! Coop Fed members can vote for up to 3 nominees.

How it Works:

  • The ballot lists local organizations that were nominated by Coop Fed members. To be eligible, nominees must (1) have non-profit status or a fiscal sponsor,  (2) primarily serve the Syracuse / Central New York area, and (3) have a mission focused on this year's funding priority: Racial Justice (2023).
  • Coop Fed members can vote for up to 3 nominees (ranked choice voting). Ballots must be cast no later than June 30, 2023. The top 3 nominees will be this year's winners.
  •  Throughout the year, purchases made on Coop Fed VISA debit cards will add funds to the prize pool. The more our members use their debit cards, the more funds go into the pool! Winners will receive cash prizes in approximately February 2024.

Congratulations to our latest winners

We're so pleased to celebrate the winners of our 2022 funding round! Thanks to credit union members, Coop Fed awarded $500 each to these top 4 nominees.
