In March of every year, the membership, management, and Board of Directors of Cooperative Federal get together to practice cooperative ownership in action.
The Annual Meeting is a unique opportunity for credit union members to hear about our financial health and community impacts, learn about what's coming up in the year ahead, discuss hot topics, and pose questions to credit union leaders. It's also when we hold the Election for members who wish to volunteer on our Board of Directors or Credit Committee.
Unlike at a bank, where only powerful shareholders have a voice, each credit union member in good standing gets one equal vote in our election and is entitled to participate in the annual meeting. Watch this short webisode to find out what happens when an average customer tries to attend a Big Bank annual meeting!
Afer the meeting concludes, we traditionally invite guests to join us for a scrumptuous meal -- usually featuring a neighborhood restaurant or member business! Our menu is always vegan-friendly (with meat and non-meat options), accompanied by lively conversation, and topped off with handmade desserts.
Come One, Come All
Friends, allies, and people interested in joining Cooperative Federal are welcomed to attend the Annual Meeting & Dinner, too. But only members get a ballot to vote for the Board and Credit Committee.
